New AIA CES Courses
From Curb Appeal to Code Compliance-The Sectional Garage Door Deep Dive (1.0 LU | HSW credit) is an introductory level course designed for architects looking for more knowledge necessary to specify and integrate commercial sectional garage doors into a range of building projects. Participants will learn about door types, materials, performance standards, and aesthetic options with an emphasis on energy efficiency, safety, and long-term durability.
Safe, Smart, and Strong-Specifying Dock Levelers and Accessories for Industrial Efficiency (1.0 LU | HSW credit)is also an introductory level course that will provide architects and specifiers with essential knowledge required for selecting and integrating loading dock levelers, vehicle restaints, bumpers, and accessories into building designs. Participants will explore how properly specified dock systems ultimately deliver measurable ROI and value to building owners.
Original AIA CES Course
Hörmann’s original AIA CES course, Speed is the New Green – 7 Advanced Fundamentals for High Performance Doors (1.0 LU | HSW credit), has been offered since 2019 and is still available in addition to the new courses.
This course evaluates high performance flexible and rigid coiling doors as compared to conventional rolling doors. Environmental and physical security factors are examined; short video clips provide examples of quick opening and closing operations as well as safety and ease of repair. Participants will explore costing, design considerations, and application examples.
Production Facility Tours for AIA CES Credit
In addition to the three AIA CES courses, Hörmann also offers Hörmann Experience Tours of the six North American production facilities, each worth 1.0 LU / HSW credit.
Hörmann Experience Tours are a personalized, VIP-level immersion into the world of premium sectional and high-performance door systems. Tours are an exclusive, behind-the-scenes opportunity to explore the industry’s leading sectional and high-performance doors in real-time operation. Participants will step into our state-of-the-art showrooms and innovation centers for an up close view of the technology that powers our reputation.
Architects are encouraged to schedule tours in addtion to the individual AIA CES courses as an effective way to reinforce their newly gained course knowledge and to receive additional AIA CES course credits throughout the year.
